Victory Heights Primary School is a state-of-the-art British curriculum primary school located in Dubai Sports City, adjacent to the Victory Heights residential community. The school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and feeds into the British National Curriculum. This is adapted to an international environment, giving the school the freedom to inspire all students with creative themes while being able to track progress and celebrate success. And it is greatly enhanced by the International Primary School Curriculum (including learning Arabic and Spanish).
At Victory Heights Primary School, the school believes that the most important thing is to give children an environment where they can truly develop their potential, explore and discover the world around them, learn to think independently and form independent opinions, be aware of and be able to connect with others, and have the ability to take responsibility for their own actions.
The school hopes to cultivate responsible global citizens who are sensitive to other cultures and peoples. The school encourages students to respect the environment, develop a social conscience, and give back to society. In line with the tradition of the best British schools, the school emphasizes the importance of a "comprehensive" education. Therefore, the school attaches great importance to character development, leadership and teamwork skills.
The school is about the simple things. The school believes in giving children the key tools and knowledge to succeed, and in applying these skills in real life. The school's curriculum is innovative and challenging, and supports all learners to be the best, but the school does not lose sight of the basics and firmly believes that the basics must be mastered; this is why students at the school continue to make excellent progress.
1. Early Years Foundation Stage
The Early Years Foundation Stage is from birth to 5 years old. These guiding principles are divided into four different but complementary themes, which are then broken down into a number of objectives that explain how to put these principles into practice:
* Enabling Environment - explains that the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning.
* Transition and Continuity - a commitment to focus on observation, assessment and planning, supporting each child, the learning environment and the wider context.
* Learning and Development - recognizing that children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates, and all areas of learning and development are equally important and interconnected.
The curriculum is based around seven main areas of learning and development:
*Personal, Social and Emotional Development
*Communication and Language
*Literacy
*Mathematics (Problem Solving, Reasoning and Calculation)
*Understanding the World
*Physical Development
*Expressive Arts and Design
